A&C Milling

About Us

Using the resources in our community to support our local animals and animal lovers, A & C Milling was built to provide a locally grown and produced feed option to support and better the community and the local farmers. Clayton Archer, the founder and operator, started working for Geisinger Feed Grains just out of high school, and though he loved the work, the slow fading of the business as the Geisinger family looked to move on meant he had to find other work. In January of 2020, while Clayton was working with the local fire departments, the family reached out and asked him to help reinvigorate the business. Clayton’s love for feed and animal nutrition, and wealth of experiences with all classes of livestock, made an impact. After a few months the Geisingers revealed they hoped to sell the place to Clayton. After lots of paperwork and bank meetings, in November of 2020, Geisinger Feed Grains became A & C Milling.

Looking to regrow and improve upon the old bones of the place, the past three years have been spent making classic recipes, trying new recipes and techniques, growing new and old relationships, and building the place and the family up. In late 2022, A & C Farm and Pet was opened to bring our product closer to the people in town and in 2023 a new member was brought into the Archer family. The family seeks to better the Cortez and surrounding communities by keeping what is grown and sold within our communities, serving as an economic boost for the people around us.
